Barnhart Island bridge at Massena, NY, has two 50×80-ft rectangular piers 225 ft offshore founded on rock 41 ft below river level on south-side and 36 ft on northside; two gravity type abutments are located 60 ft back from shoreline; steel superstructure is continuous through truss with center span of 508 ft and two 283-ft anchor spans.
