Abitibi power and paper company uses treated timber for flume and roof construction
Both zinc chloride and coal-tar creosote used in treatment of timber for modern plant; flume is constructed in shape of truncated cone section 5 ft. wide at top and 1 ft. at bottom and 3 ft. deep, lined with sheet metal to reduce leakage, resistance to flow, and wear on timber sides; storage tanks were constructed of structural-steel plate with timber roofs, one 63 ft. in diam., other 41 ft.
