Standard tests on concrete have no relation to properties of concrete if it is molded; due mostly to extremely high excess of water added to concrete mix for molded concrete, strength of resulting casting is much below value which might have been predicted; especial care in use of molded concrete must be taken in regard to graining of aggregate, increase of cement, ratio, use of trass, etc. Includes discussion by O.
