Bridging the grand canyon with a 600-ft. steel arch
Highway structure on route north from Flagstaff, Ariz., will eliminate difficult and dangerous Lee's Ferry crossing; Grand Canyon of Colorado River is being bridged by 3-hinge steel-arch structure 618 ft. center to center of end pins; total length of bridge will be 833 ft.; trusses have 22 panels at 28 ft., are set on batter, and are designed for cantilever erection.
