Competitive designs for a second rigid highway bridge over the river mosel at Coblenz
May 20 1928 no. 10 p 185-189: Information, including data obtained by test borings, also terms of competition for design of bridge of 852.5 m. total length, of which 349 m. spans river channel, with roadway of 24 m. ultimate width; involves also construction of navigation sluices and power development; 13 projects submitted, ranging from 3.1 to 6.7 million marks in cost. June 5 1928 no. 11 p 201-205: Structural features of "Denkmal " design, recommended by jury for adoption; calls for three reinforced-concrete arches of 114.5 m. span; details of hinges; design of roadway for carrying pipes and cables across river; design of arch centering. July 20 1928 no. 14 p 265-268: "Confluentes" design, by Dyckerhoff u. Widmann A.G., consisting principally of three 3-hinge reinforced-concrete arch spans, 107 to 115 m. long; "Grosse-Linie" design, by Honneff, A.G., featured by four steel girder spans, 110 to 121 m. long; general discussion of designs submitted.
