Study of movements of wall rock in mining operations
Investigation of behavior of strata by use of hydraulic props and by measuring displacement of spikes anchored in floor, roof or coal bed; expression of convergence of measurements of absolute displacement as function of time is given for various conditions; zones with roof bolting produce less convergence than zones with arches. (See also - n 5 May 1960 p 460-92)
