Deas island tunnel -- Vehicular trench type tunnel under Fraser River in Canada
Tunnel is 2160 ft long and has open cut approaches to secure saving in operating costs of ventilation and illumination; navigable depth above tunnel is 42 ft at low tide; tunnel is of rectangular section and comprises four 12 ft wide lanes, with additional 8 ft wide air ducts on both sides; inner clearance is 14 ft; 6 tunnel elements 344 ft long each, were constructed in drydock, floated to site and sunk.
