Preliminary results of field tests with painted steel plates
Plates with different organic coatings were exposed to lake water or to set underground atmosphere for 6 yr; it was found that hot applied bituminous coatings generally behaved well under different test conditions; greatest corrosion attack upon steel plates exposed to lake water was just below water level.
