Effect of boron on properties and heat treatment of stainless spring steel
Addition of optimum amount of boron (0.005%) to age hardening steel E1702 considerably improves its elastic properties and hardness after quenching from 825 C and tempering for 2 hr at 700 C or 4 hr at 650 C. (See also Stal v 19 n 9 Sept 1959 p 830-5)
