Characteristics of kingston carbonate rock reaction
Phenomenon characterized by excessive expansion and cracking of concrete when high alkali cement is used and concrete is exposed to moist environment; in sidewalks and floor slabs, where bottom side is exposed to weather, differential movement produces characteristic pattern cracking; laboratory results showing differences and similarities between characteristics of this phenomenon and well known alkali-silica reaction.
