Analysis of shear-walled buildings
Complete analysis is carried out in two stages; in first stage, deflected shape of structure is determined by using "twin cantilevers" method; moments in individual members for this deflected shape are obtained in second stage, using iterative procedure based on slope deflection method; symmetrically arranged shear walls and frames can be analyzed; with modifications method can also be applied to frame torsion resulting from eccentric loads or unsymmetrically arranged shear walls and frames.
