Approximate calculation of diaphragm beam with strengthened edges
Due to strengthened flanges, arm of internal forces is increased, and so is load carrying capacity of beam; exact calculation of such structures is very difficult and time-consuming; approximate method based on determination of "bedding reaction coefficient" K and using differential equation for displacement of centroidal axis is proposed which makes calculation much easier; comparison of theoretical results with those of photoelastic experiments confirm method's validity.
