Chelsea bridge
Bridge replaces suspension structure built in 1858; new bridge and piers situated in same position as old; although of considerably greater strength, suspension cables will appear much lighter than chains of old bridge; each consists of 37 steel wire ropes, 1 7/8 in. diam, assembled together in hexagonal bundle; demolition of old bridge, foundations, and steel work, described.
