Report on experiment in road surface construction; layer of broken stone was first rolled into turf, then layer of cement grout about 1/4 in. thick was spread; on this grout, while still wet, coir reinforcing mat was laid transversely, and on this, concrete mix 3/4 to 1 in. thick was spread; road has been tested for 3 mo period and, although this is not conclusive evidence, roads seems to show satisfactory wearing qualities.
