Flexural analysis of elastic-plastic rectangular plates
Discrete-variable approach is suggested; through discrete model of plate consisting symbolically of system of flexible nodes, rigid bars, and torsional elements containing or defining average physical quantities of plate, formulation of problem in finite terms can be carried out simply on basis of basic principles of mechanics; this leads directly to set of recursive equations which forms basis of algorithmic approach to flexural analysis of nonlinear inelastic plates; although no formal verification of derived solutions is given, reliability of solution method is strongly substantiated with specific problems and is supported also by bounds of limit analysis.
