A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Method is given to analyze bending of rectangular plates loaded beyond elastic limit; plastic strains are treated as equivalent lateral loads and edge moments; method can be applied to materials with arbitrary stress-strain characteristics under arbitrary sequence of loading conditions, including reversed and repeated loadings; numerical example of calculating stress distribution and deflection surface of rectangular plate under uniform lateral load beyond elastic limit is given; calculated plastic strain distribution and deflections are shown.
