Elasto-plastic analysis of reinforced plates
Extension of available theories for analysis of rectangular two-way reinforced metal deck plates into large deflection, elasto-plastic stress region; procedure outlined considers yielding of material of reinforcing ribs caused by combination of membrane as well as bending stress; limit load for procedure is achieved when full plastification of rib is reached; procedure uses method of finite differences to obtain numerical solutions of governing differential equations and to evaluate stresses; high speed digital computer was used in three numerical studies to test validity of analytical method.
