A numerical study on vortex-excited oscillations of bluff cylinders
AbstractA finite element method using the ALE formulation is applied to simulate flows around vibrating thin-H section cylinder. Both the forced vibration case and the vortex-excited oscillation cases are computed. The behavior of eddies around the vibrating cylinder is investigated.
