Dehydrocyclization of n-hexane in the presence of an alumina-palladium catalyst in helium and hydrogen flow
Abstract 1. A study was made of the conversions of n-hexane in the presence of Pd/Al2O3 according to temperature, contact time and the type of carrier-gas. 2. Benzene yield in helium flow is higher over the whole range of temperature studied than in hydrogen flow. 3. It was assumed that aromatization of n-hexane in the presence of Pd/Al2O3 takes place to form unsaturated hydrocarbons as intermediate reaction products.
