Effect of acid properties of aluminosilicate catalysts on their activity in isomerization of m-xylene
Abstract 1. A spectroscopic study was made of acid centres on the surface of aluminosilicate catalysts using high temperature adsorption of ammonia. 2. Tha catalytic activity of aluminosilicate catalysts in m-xylene conversion depends on the concentration of strong acid centres on the catalyst surface. 3. It was established that on adding steam in a proportion of 0.17 mole/mole m-xylene to the reaction zone, the yield of p-xylene increases. Process selectivity increases from 60 to 80–84%.
