Nonlinear behavior of prestressed cable trusses
Abstract The nonlinear deformational response and stiffness characteristics of four plane prestressed cable trusses subjected to symmetric and asymmetric loads have been examined. The influence of the span-to-sag ratio on the behavior of these structures is also investigated. The method of analysis used is based on an Eulerian formulation which accounts for arbitrarily large joint displacements. The nonlinear effects of member slackening and inelastic material properties are included in the analysis.
