Self-centering ceiling panel
A panel (20) for a drop ceiling is made of a semi-rigid but resilient material such as spring steel and includes comer clips (52) adapted to cooperate with the inverted T shaped stringers (26) of a drop ceiling support system (24) so that the panel (20) is self 5 centering between opposing stringers (26) and is spring biased into a clamped relationship with horizontal flanges (34) of the inverted T-shape stringers (26) to prevent the panel (20) from moving up and down. The comer clips (52) are also designed to transfer any horizontal compressive shear force in the mounting system to vertical edges (40) of the panel (20) so as not to undesirably bow the flat base (38) of the panel (20).
