A PLOUGH FOR RAILWAY ROADBED BALLAST A plough for railway roadbed ballast adapted to refurbish a fouled ballast, said plough adapted to be inserted into and positioned between ties of a railway track and the railway roadbed such that the ties are lifted from the fouled ballast, the plough comprising: a substantially flat body adapted to be drawn between the railway roadbed and a railway track and adapted to support the ties of the railway track in use; opposing guiding members attached proximal to the front of the body, each guiding member comprises rolling means adapted to roll along a vertical surface of a railway track to guide the plough in alignment with the railway track in use; a plurality of blade members extending downwardly from an undersurface of the plough, adapted to extend into and plough the ballast, thereby to churn the ballast so as to refurbish the ballast; forwardly located ballast funnel means projecting downwardly from the undersurface of the plough and adapted to funnel the ballast towards the blade members in use; means for drawing the plough in substantial alignment with the railway track; and one or more raised runners extending along the upper surface of the body and adapted to contact one or more ties of the railway track in use, wherein the raised runners comprise one or more rolling means for reducing the friction between the plough and ties of the railway track in use.
