Vapour permeable and flame retardant building membrane
The present invention relates to a building membrane for use in the construction of buildings. The membrane is suitable for use as an underlay in roofing construction but may also be used as an underlay in wall or floor construction or for other purposes for which the characteristics of the invention render it suitable. The present invention provides a flexible building membrane including a layer of flexible material that is water vapour permeable and liquid water impermeable and a flame retardant and water vapour permeable material applied to the layer of flexible material. In a preferred embodiment the membrane further includes a layer of flexible material that is water vapour permeable and the flame retardant and water vapour permeable material is an adhesive between the layers for laminating the layers together.
