Demountable boss formed countersunk assembly system
A demountable boss formed countersunk assembly system for joining substantially perpendicular tubular members including: a first tubular member with a hole passing through the tube at the location of the join; a boss member adapted to be inserted in the first tubular member in line with the hole; the boss having a passage passing through the boss with a countersink forming face ; a bolt with a countersunk head adapted to pass through the tube and the boss to engage a nut wherein on tightening the bolt in the nut compresses and swages against the countersink forming face, a countersink in the wall of the first tubular member by which the boss is also held captive therein; an internally threaded stud adapted to be inserted into the end of a second tubular member; wherein on removal of the nut, the bolt is screwed into the threaded stud to connect the first tubular member to the second tubular member and wherein the tubular members can be readily disconnected from threaded studs in remounting the assembly as required.
