Abstract An impact slider assembly for use with a guardrail system having at least one support post a first rail, and a second rail said assembly including: an impact slider device integrally attached to the first rail to facilitate sliding of the first rail over each subsequent rail, and wherein the impact slider device is configured to substantially surrounding the first rail, the second rail; characterised in that the impact slider device gathers telescoping rails and provides resistance to side angle impacts to reduce the likelihood of guardrail gating.
