The present invention relates to a drain grate assembly for a building threshold. The assembly includes a drain grate, and a sill for mounting at least one door or window. A portable holder is provided for holding the drain grate and the sill. Advantageously, the portable holder may be readily installed in the flooring so as to effectively simultaneously install the held drain grate and sill.
