The present invention relates to a drain grate assembly for a building threshold. The assembly includes a drain grate and a sill for receiving and mounting at least one door or window. The assembly further includes a holder including portable parts and for holding the drain grate and the sill. Advantageously, the same portable part may be used for receiving the drain grate, whereas an appropriate portable part can be used to form the holder depending upon the width required for the sill.
