Method for Producing a Gunned-Concrete Accelerator Using New Raw Materials
Abstract The invention relates to a method for producing a gunned-concrete accelerator from a mixture a), b), or c), which method comprises mixing a) at least one 5 aluminum compound selected from an aluminum sulfate and/or an aluminum hydroxy sulfate, at least one calcium compound, and optionally water, or b) at least one aluminum compound selected from aluminum sulfate and/or aluminum hydroxy sulfate, at least one alkali aluminate, and optionally water, wherein the alkali content of the mixture is at most 10 mass% Na 2O equivalent, 10 preferably at most 5 mass% Na 2O equivalent, preferably at most 2 mass% Na 2O equivalent, or c) concentrated sulfuric acid and aluminum hydroxide, preferably crystalline aluminum hydroxide, wherein the sulfuric acid is present in stoichiometric deficit and the mixture is reacted at a temperature above 100 °C, preferably under positive pressure, wherein the gunned-concrete 15 accelerator or, if the gunned-concrete accelerator is a solid gunned-concrete accelerator, a mixture of the solid gunned-concrete accelerator in water has a pH value less than 4. The mixtures a), b), and c) are suitable as an accelerator for cement suspensions, gunned concrete, or sprayed mortar.
