Abstract A fall arrest system for a building under construction having frame members and an internal space within the building defined below the frame members, the fall arrest system comprising a barrier comprising nettings, the barrier spanning the frame members; and anchoring elements for fixing the barrier in position, wherein the anchoring elements each comprise a body presenting a broad face for location against the barrier, the face being configured for gripping engagement with the barrier.
