Abstract The invention relates to a method or means for anchoring a temporarily erected pole or post, such as found in a sail-covered shelter-giving structure, in particular a structure for providing shade from the sun. Specifically, the invention enables anchoring a temporary covering structure such as a canopy sunshade, gazebo and the like, especially when the structure is of the foldable type having a rigid frame which is collapsible for transportation.
