A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A ferrule chair 1 including two bar holders, 1Oa and 1Ob, a pole holder 20 and a main body 2 supported by four stands 5a, 5b, 5c and 5d. Each of the bar holders, Oa-b 5 comprise a pair of opposed upper and lower arms, 13a, 13b, 11a and Ilb, adapted to partially extend around a section of a bar in the form of a claw. Each of the lower arms, 13a and 13b has lower arm bases, 14a,b formed integrally with the main body 2. The lower arm bases 14a,b have cantilevered free ends 15a,b, so that they are not directly supported by the main body 2 immediately below the respective free ends 0 15a,b. Furthermore, the upper and lower arms, 1a, Ilb, 13a and 13b, are aligned in different vertical planes such that no part of each of the upper arms l la,b are directly above any part of the lower arms 13a,b in an "overbite" relationship.
