A METHOD FOR A SEISMIC FRAGILITY ANALYSIS OF A VERTICALLY IRREGULAR STEEL FRAMED BUILDINGS
Abstract The present disclosure relates to a method for a seismic fragility analysis of a vertically irregular steel framed buildings. The method comprises: utilizing an OpenSees laboratory tool for a non-linear time history analysis of a models of a selected buildings for the seismic fragility analysis; modelling an uncertainty in an earthquake by a set of ground motions with a PGA increasing gradually from 0.lg to 1.Og wherein, a global damping ratio and a yield strength of a steel are taken as random variables for considering uncertainty; obtaining a maximum inter-storey drift (ISD) values and a corresponding specific pseudo spectral acceleration (Sa) values and plotting the values on a graph to obtain a probabilistic seismic demand models (PSDMs) of each frames; determining a damage/loss of the structure at different damage states using a damage index function. rJ 00 o o0 00 E CL_ 4 m 0 CL r )) 0 oE 0- t a)-~~ 00 Ef -'.4 0 aa)C 0 N a0
