The present invention relates to use of a grinding additive during the dry grinding of steel making slag, characterized in that the grinding additive is selected from the group consisting of alkanolamines, glycols, glycerol, sugars, sugar acids, carboxylic acids or their salts, superplasticizers, superabsorbent polymers, or mixtures thereof. The present invention also relates to ground steelmaking slag comprising said additives and the use of said ground steel making slag in construction materials.
