METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING TRIPLE-SHELL TANK
Provided is a method for constructing a triple-shell tank including an inner vessel, an intermediate vessel, and an outer vessel each having a roof and a side plate. The method comprises the following procedure. As work gateways, a first work opening is provided in an outer vessel side plate, a second work opening is provided in an inner vessel side plate, and a third work opening is provided in an intermediate vessel side plate, each during the installation of the corresponding side plate. The second work opening is sealed after completion of work inside the inner vessel, the third work opening is sealed after completion of work inside the intermediate vessel, and then the first work opening is sealed after completion of work inside the outer vessel. The first to third work openings are provided in such a way as to at least partially overlap with each other in the circumferential direction and the height direction of the triple-shell tank. The first and second work openings are provided so as to satisfy the relationship AR1 ≥ AR2, where AR1 is an opening area of the first work opening, and AR2 is an opening area of the second work opening.
