Door handle-latch actuating mechanism
- 15 A handle assembly for a door latch comprises a handle rotatably supported by a housing, and a drive member mounted for rotation with a shaft of the handle, the drive member having first and second sets of drive teeth. A link member is rotatably supported by the housing for engagement with the door latch, the link member having teeth for engaging a selected one of the first and second sets of drive teeth. Wherein, the link member is removable temporarily to disengage it from the drive member and allow rotation of the handle and drive member for selection of the first and second sets of teeth. This allows the handle, for instance a lever type handle, to be configured for 'left-handed' or 'right-handed' operation.
