The invention relates to a handling device (1) for handling a frame formwork element (2) with a formwork panel (20) and a circumferential support frame (19) on the rear of the formwork panel (20), having: a handling head (3) with a holding unit (4) for holding the frame formwork element (2), a movement unit (5) for moving the handling head (3), the handling unit (4) of the handling head (3) being designed to hold the frame formwork element (2) in both a horizontal and an upright position.
