CARTRIDGE UNDERBODY ATTACHMENT
The present invention is a cartridge underbody attachment for a single control faucet. The attachment generally comprises a valve body having a cartridge housing that seats within a spout body. The spout body comprises a wide central portion opening into a sideways extending cylindrical port having a notch formed therein. The cartridge housing is inserted through the open bottom of the spout body. The cartridge housing generally comprises a cover having defined apertures, and a pentagonal housing attached to the rear surface of the cover. Valve hoses soldered within the pentagonal housing are in fluid communication with the apertures. A pin on the cover locks into the notch in the spout body to securely retain the cartridge housing, such that the housing can form an off-axis connection with the valve cartridge. A cartridge support housing and retainer nut further secure the valve body and cartridge within the spout body.
