The invention relates to the field of packaging of radioactive waste by cementing. More specifically, the invention relates to the use of crystalline silica, mixed with cement powder, to reduce the heating of the cement paste caused by the hydration of said powder, during a process of packaging of radioactive waste. The invention also relates to a formulation for the packaging of radioactive waste by cementing, which comprises such silica. The invention further relates to a method for packaging radioactive waste implementing said formulation, and to a package for packaging of radioactive waste which is obtained by this method. Applications: processing of low- and medium-activity waste produced downstream of the nuclear fuel cycle.
L'invention se rapporte au domaine du conditionnement des déchets radioactifs par cimentation. De manière plus spécifique, l'invention se rapporte à l'utilisation d'une silice cristalline, en mélange avec une poudre de ciment, pour diminuer réchauffement de la pâte cimentaire résultant de l'hydratation de cette poudre, au cours d'un processus de conditionnement d'un déchet radioactif. L'invention se rapporte également à une formulation pour le conditionnement d'un déchet radioactif par cimentation, qui comprend une telle silice. Elle se rapporte encore à un procédé de conditionnement d'un déchet radioactif mettant en uvre cette formulation, ainsi qu'à un colis de conditionnement d'un déchet radioactif qui est obtenu par ce procédé. Applications : traitement de déchets de faible et moyenne activité produits dans l'aval du cycle du combustible nucléaire.
