WEEPING TILE BACKWATER VALVE
The invention relates to a backwater valve that connects the weeping tile of a building to a sewer or storm water pipe. The backwater valve (flapper valve) is made of plastic or corrosion-resistant alloy and has an improved shape, a handle or a string or chain attached to the flapper. The invention is an improvement to existing backwater valves that are present in weeping tile connections installed in buildings prior to mid-1980's. The existing backwater valves have no handle thus are difficult to open; and tend to fail due to rust and interaction with silt.
