Provided is a roller blind assembly comprising a roller blind having a top end and a bottom end, and a retainer secured to at least one of the top end and bottom end of the roller blind, the retainer comprising a sheet and a shaft in connection with the sheet. Also provided is a method of assembling a roller blind which comprises the steps of securing a retainer in a flat position, the retainer having a shaft and a sheet in connection with the sheet, overlapping a portion of a roller blind with the retainer, and applying heat and/or pressure to the area where the roller blind overlaps with the retainer.
