The invention relates to a bearing building block which is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 12-17 parts of white ash, 10-15 parts of bentonite, 3-5 parts of macadam, 10-15 parts of fly ash, 5-10 parts of redispersible rubber powder, 1-3 parts of anticracking agent and 15-20 parts of water. Tens of thousands of various detections on the bearing building block, including strength detection, freeze-thawing detection, soaking detection, radioactivity detection and heat engineering detection, sufficiently prove that the bearing building block has the dual functions of bearing and thermal insulation.
