The invention provides a ceramic material for a bearing and a preparation method of the ceramic material. The ceramic material is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 60-80 parts of Si3N4, 5-10 parts of Al2O3, 1-5 parts of sepiolite powder, 1-5 parts of attapulgite powder and 0.5-3 parts of a binder. Compared with the prior art, the ceramic material which is prepared from the Si3N4 is relatively high in bending strength and hardness, and meanwhile the ceramic material is self-lubricant, low in friction coefficient and relatively good in wear-resisting property. By virtue of a synergistic effect among the Al2O3, sepiolite powder and attapulgite powder which serve as raw materials as well, the wear-resisting property of the ceramic material for the bearing is enhanced. In addition, by preparing the ceramic material for the bearing through ball milling and sintering treatment, the precision of the product is guaranteed by virtue of the ball milling, and the economic benefit and working efficiency are greatly improved. Experimental results show that the ceramic material for the bearing prepared by the invention is relatively good in wear-resisting property.
