The invention provides a preparation method of a ceramic material and the ceramic material. The preparation method of the ceramic material comprises the following steps: preparing a first green body with a pore structure from first slurry containing ceramic powder; immersing the first green body into second slurry containing titanium nitride and/or titanium carbide nano powder to form a second green body; and sintering the second green body to form the ceramic material, wherein the titanium nitride and/or titanium carbide nano powder can be oxidized to generate anatase type titanium oxide withfiner particles in the sintering process. In the invention, the anatase type titanium oxide is more uniformly distributed in the ceramic material, the chemical activity is higher, and the disinfection effect of the ceramic material is better.
