The vertical air cushion layer shock insulation supporting seat comprises an air cylinder and a piston which is arranged in the air cylinder, wherein the air cylinder and the piston can move up and down freely relative to each other, a closed space for storing high pressure air is formed between the air cylinder and the piston, an air inlet passage/an air outlet passage is arranged on the bottom of the air cylinder, and an air inlet passage, an air inlet/exhasuting hole and a wall lubricating vent pore are formed in the side wall of the air cylinder; a one-way check valve is arranged in the air inlet passage, and a sealing bolt is arranged in the wall lubricating vent pore; the air cylinder is connected with a lower part structure, and the piston is connected with an upper part structure. According to the shock insulation supporting seat and the shock insulation supporting method, the weight of the upper part structure is transferred to the lower part structure through the controllable high pressure air cushion layer with high vertical bearing capacity and small vertical rigidness, so that the vertical shock of the structure can be effectively isolated.
