A combined staircase for high rise buildings, comprising: public staircases (711, 711', 712, 721,721', 722, 811, 812, 821, 822, 831, 832, 841, 842, 852, 852) and private staircases (181, 182, 281, 282, 381, 382, 383, 384, 581, 582) in a MAXU stairwell (80). Each layer contains a left area, a middle area, and a right area. The combined staircase is divided into an upper and a lower portion. Each portion contains at least two floors. The left, middle, and right areas of a lower portion are all public areas and do not contain private staircases (181, 182, 281, 282, 381, 382, 383, 384, 581, 582). Each floor in an upper portion contains only one area, between the left and right areas, that consists of a private staircase (181, 182, 281, 282, 381, 382, 383, 384, 581, 582), and the other area is a public staircase (711, 711', 712, 721, 721', 722, 811, 812, 821, 822, 831, 832, 841, 842, 851, 852). The combined staircase conserves the area occupied by public staircases (711, 711', 712, 721, 721', 722, 811, 812, 821, 822, 831, 832, 841, 842, 851, 852) in high rise buildings.
