The invention discloses an automobile and an ashtray assembly of the automobile. The ashtray assembly comprises an ashtray body and a cigar lighter. The ashtray body comprises a tank body, an inner hopper arranged in the tank body and a cover plate for opening and closing the inner hopper. A sliding rail is arranged on the outer side wall of the tank body in the opening and closing direction of the cover plate, and the cover plate is in sliding connection with the sliding rail through a sliding block on the cover plate. A coil spring and a damping mechanism are arranged between the tank body and the cover plate, one end of the coil spring is fixed to the tank body, the other end of the coil spring is fixed to the cover plate, and when the cover plate is opened, the coil spring is compressed. A locking mechanism is arranged between the tank body and the cover plate, and when the cover plate is opened, the locking mechanism is at a locking position. Therefore, the stable opening process is achieved through the ashtray assembly, the locking function is achieved, therefore, the cover plate separation phenomenon caused by excessive opening is avoided, and the opening stability of the cover plate and the performance of the ashtray assembly are improved.
