The invention discloses a turning joint of a stair armrest and an installation method for the turning joint. The turning joint comprises a first joint, a second joint and an annular first soft metal running-in piece; the first joint comprises a first pipe body, a first support sheet, a first bolt, a third support sheet and a third nut; the second joint comprises a second pipe body, a second support sheet, a second nut, a fourth support sheet and a fourth nut; the first soft metal running-in piece is arranged between the first joint and the second joint; the first bolt penetrates through a first through hole and the first soft metal running-in piece, and is in threaded connection with the second nut, and therefore the connection between first joint and the second joint is realized; the other end of the first pipe body and the other end of the second pipe body are respectively connected with a straight bar of the stair armrest. By adopting the turning joint of the stair armrest, disclosed by the invention, the assembly of the turning joint can be realized without welding on an installation site, so the installation processes are simplified, and the installation efficiency is increased.
