The invention discloses a universal wheel borne bridge gas residue clearing device and a use method thereof. The universal wheel borne bridge gas residue clearing device is used for clearing residues in gaps (such as bridge expansion joints) of a bridge (9) and comprises a support plate (8), the support plate (8) is used for stretching over gaps and being fixedly connected to lower ends of vertical supports (81), upper ends of the vertical supports (81) are fixedly connected with a drive motor (82) which is in power connection with a drive sleeve (820), and the outer surface of the drive sleeve (820) is slidably connected with the upper portion of the inner hole of a sliding groove (7) through keying fit.
