The invention discloses a steel plate thickness supporting and protecting device which comprises a cross rod, wherein a support bar is arranged in the cross rod; both ends of the support bar are arranged to penetrate both sides of the cross rod; a vertical support is fixed between the cross rod and the support bar in a connecting manner; a support framework is mounted on the upper surface of the cross rod in an embedding manner; support columns are mounted at positions, close to both side surfaces, on the lower surface of the cross rod; the tops of the support columns are fixed on the cross rod, while the bottoms of the support columns are fixed on a base; the base is a weighted base; a fastening screw is arranged between the base and each support column; a support plate is mounted between two support columns; both ends of the support plate are clamped on the support columns by fixing clips. The steel plate thickness supporting and protecting device is firm in connection of members, convenient in field processing, light in weight and convenient to move, can effectively improve the construction efficiency, ensures the project quality, can support and protect the steel plate thickness, and can be completed without too many construction workers.
